Presentation

After an art school and obtaining a master's degree in fashion design, I turned to communication consulting in the luxury and fashion sectors where graphic design naturally plays an important role. During my studies, my internships, then my work, I have always had to create images to meet a need, a request. There were both expectations and rules to respect in all my achievements and this is what, I think, contributed to restrain my creative energy.

In 2020, confinement and sensory isolation are reviving in me a desire for independence and creation. The following year, I moved to Paris to work there as a consultant and develop my art at the same time. For 2 years now I have been creating under the pseudonym Realfake which synthesizes the encounter between the real of the source images and the artificial of my recomposition work.

THE ORIGIN: During my studies in fashion, I had to make many sketches of clothes that I then photocopied. One day my hand inadvertently shifted the drawing on the scanner glass and it was this error that revealed to me another way of creating. I found the image noticeably more interesting once deconstructed and discolored by the machine. Fascinated by this accident, I began to cultivate this effect digitally in order to apply it to my creations in an approach that can be compared to the current "glitch art".

The glitch is inherently chaotic, yet when intentional, it can become a creative tool as much as a paintbrush.

WORKING METHOD: I make digital exquisite corpses from elements of photographs that I recompose and recolor. I draw a lot of inspiration from photographic negatives and heatmaps that have relatively accidental color composition. Resulting from a combination of various software and 3D tools, my humanoids are prey to violent emotions which escape from all their pores in the form of uncontrolled waves of colors.

The working time for each project is very variable. This can take up to several months, depending on the style and level of complexity.
