Presentation

Born in Santiago de Chile in 1940, Édouard Golbin trained very early in professional photography, in Argentina, in one of the main advertising agencies in Buenos Aires.

Later, back in France, where his family originated, he worked in a Parisian agency which enabled him to carry out numerous reports in the most important French industrial companies.

Having become a freelance photographer, he devoted himself mainly to reports in South America (Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and, in 1998, he took part, as a photographer, in the expedition to Bolivia of the Ushuaïa Foundation).

His personal editions of postcards and posters (some of which like the "cat on the balcony", "Borges" or "class struggle" will be sold in many countries: France, Japan, USA, Italy, Great Britain, Argentina... ).

During this same period, he continued to produce reports for renowned companies such as Pechiney, André, UAP, etc.

He also produces series of photos that will illustrate works of art such as “The Glass Sculptures of Matei Negreanu", “Industrial Images", “Economic Images" and City Chronicles.

In recent years, he has turned to the abstract expression of photography. After noticing that some of the dripping canine tracks, which stain the sidewalks of our cities, offered interesting graphic expressions, he decided to explore this ephemeral source of expression which he describes as “Pavement Art".

To honor these anonymous canine “artists", he imagined Agus Max, non-conformist artist, whose works he captures at the level of the sidewalks in the vast studio of the streets of the cities of the world.

With his series "the sidewalks of Buenos Aires", he offers us seductive images, which recall certain works of contemporary painters.

By the subtlety of the forms and the charm of the colors, the spectator travels within his own feelings.
