Biography

Francesco Viscuso, born in Catania in 1980, lives and works in Rome. His artistic research includes photography, collage, installation, jewels and ephemeral design. The main themes of his work are developed in a personal wunderkammer that evokes the conflictual relationship between Human Psyche and Natural Kingdom: dreamlike visions, interior landscapes, chaos, vanitas, masks, post-surrealistic scenarios, symbolic deconstructions, games of mirrors and shadows, reliquaries . From the recovery of waste and vintage material to the pictorial manipulation of photography, the boundary between past and present is dispersed in a mystical, hybrid and visionary world in which the image is no longer the possibility of contact with a presumed external reality, but rather "The light of the mind, terribly upset".
