Lea Jeong is Korean artist born in 1982 who lives and works in Seoul, South Korea. Her newest series The Immovable Mind is about a meditative body of work that visually explores the journey of returning to one's true inner center. Using the lotus as its central symbol, the series reflects a state of moving forward at one's own pace, guided solely by inner light, undisturbed by external noise or the gaze of others. During the process of creating these works, she found herself shaken by other expectations and questions about the time her work required. Through this experience, she comes to realize the profound importance of staying centered and honoring her own rhythm. In the Inner Light oldest series, she incorporates gold leaf to symbolize the innate light and wisdom that reside within all of us. When the mind becomes still through meditation, we rediscover this radiance. It is a quiet realization that we have always been, and will always be, whole and luminous.
