Juan Cobo Escorial is a Spanish photographer and cinematographer born in 1984. He lives and works between Madrid and Barcelona. He obtained a degree in audio-visual communication and media studies from the Complutense University in Madrid in 2009, and a master in photography from the EFTI in Madrid in 2010.
Juan Cobo Escorial is specialized in portraits; his projects are based on a thoughtful work with his models close to a movie director. His photographs refer to intimate and past moments of his models’ experience that he shares with the spectator through the intensity of the glance. His series entitled "Control" shows us the moment just before the models loose the control of their emotions. They look at the camera in a suspicious and vulnerable way that carries us in their interiority and imagine the experiences that are hidden in them. The spectator becomes a voyeur by coming inside the intimacy revealed by the photographer.
Juan Cobo Escorial received the 6th prize of the Photography Festival in Toulouse, he exhibited his artworks at the Espailamaga in Barcelona in 2013, during the Art DEal project in Madrid in 2013,or even at the EFTI Gallery in Madrid in 2010, to name a few.
