Description
Rediscovering the world of Lewis Carroll, Kahem imagines a sequel to the adventures of Alice, now a young woman. Inspired by the paradox "I see it, therefore it is true," she conceived a series of steampunk photographs. After a year of preparation, creating costumes and sets, she conducted a photoshoot at the Château de Limé in the Hauts-de-France region. Among the images, the central and emblematic figure embodies the whimsical and unsettling spirit of her project.
This striking artwork presents a man in steampunk style, capturing the essence of this retro-futuristic universe. Sporting an imposing top hat adorned with a magnifying glass, he immediately commands attention. His costume, rich in detail, incorporates gears and metallic accessories that reinforce an industrial and vintage atmosphere. His right eye is decorated with an intricate mechanical monocle, suspended by a delicate chain, adding a touch of intrigue. The dark, dramatic lighting highlights the textured details of the garment and creates mesmerizing shadows, contributing to a mysterious and theatrical atmosphere. The purple background intensifies this effect, accentuating the contrast with the metallic patterns.
