A human presence.
A form that came from the depths.
Here, the octopus is neither a decoration nor a provocation.
It is matter, symbol, breath.
A slow metamorphosis,
almost ritualistic
where strangeness becomes gentle
And silence, a language.

My name is Cédric Brion.
As a freelance photographer, I was born in 1978 in Belgium, in the suburbs of Mons, the city where I currently live.
Having always been interested in the visual arts, I began developing my taste for photography at the age of 18. My first tool was a film camera, the photos of which I developed in the darkness of my room.
Thus, after several years of research and experience, I managed to approach the world of professional photography, thanks to various competitions and work carried out for the business world…
Motivation and mindset.
My fascination with creating portraits in a dark, even black, atmosphere stems from my earliest childhood, because since I was a child, fantastical and dark worlds have always fascinated me. I try to create portraits that transport the viewer to another universe. I like to see my portraits as windows opening onto imaginary worlds.
From the darkness of the soul can emerge a clarity that overwhelms me. Light that is too bright often dazzles; darkness magnifies it.
I like to capture these contrasts through my portraits; ancient civilizations have always been one of my sources of inspiration. I want my portraits to resonate, for everyone to be able to project themselves into them and recognize themselves in them.
