Description
This artwork captures a magnificently harnessed camel in Bedouin territory in Jordan, near Petra. Standing against an endless desert beneath a brilliant azure sky, the camel is meticulously detailed in the vibrant patterns and intricate textures of its fabrics, contrasting with the stark simplicity of the surrounding landscape. The golden sunlight reveals the fineness of the camel's coat, emphasizing its majestic posture. In the background, distant mountains add depth to the composition, lending an element of infinity to this otherwise tranquil scene. The harmony between nature and animality, encapsulated within this desert setting, invites the viewer to explore the intimate connection between culture and environment. Each carefully positioned element celebrates the beauty and resilience of the desert.
Presentation
Emma OLIVERAS is a 26-year-old French photographer, currently based in Brussels.
A multidisciplinary artist, she moves between the worlds of travel, documentary, photojournalism, and portraiture. Her work is distinguished by a sensitive eye and a profoundly human approach to the subjects she explores.
She is a graduate of the SPEOS International School of Photography, where she obtained a degree in photojournalism.
She collaborated with the French media outlet Le Parisien as a press photographer and distinguished herself through various documentary and travel projects. Among them, "Bedouins," a photo reportage dedicated to the Bedouin community living around the archaeological site of Petra in Jordan, reflects her interest in life stories and changing cultures.
She also created a photographic travelogue about Japan, which will soon be published as a book.
Alongside her artistic practice, Emma works in the non-profit sector, where she uses photography as a tool for social connection and knowledge sharing.
