This artwork presents a surreal beach scene, masterfully blending elements of fantasy and reality. Dominated by a vivid turquoise sea under a bright, cloud-dotted sky, the painting draws immediate attention. Uniquely, it features three identical women in white dresses. One reclines whimsically on the shore, absorbing the tranquility, while another sits gracefully on luggage, gazing into the expanse. The focal point, however, is the intriguing staircase—seemingly leading nowhere—that rises directly from the sand. One woman stands poised on the steps, symbolizing an enigmatic journey or escape. This juxtaposition of ordinary beach elements with the fantastical staircase creates a paradox that captivates the viewer, inviting exploration of themes of escape, introspection, and self-discovery. The purple border frames this dreamlike tableau, enhancing the ethereal ambiance, while maintaining an assertive statement on the boundary between the surreal and the real.
Presentation
A Ukrainian artist born in 1974 in the city of Uman constructs in her work a subtle dialogue between irony and sincere vulnerability, between inner resilience and a quiet, conscious fragility. The women who appear in her paintings are never idealized or shaped by imposed expectations - they are authentic, candid, and alive. Her current artistic path has been formed through numerous exhibitions, interactions with viewers, and personal experiences that gradually shape her unique visual language. In the presented work, her characteristic style becomes evident - a blend of symbolic imagery, restrained mysticism, and delicate psychological tension that creates an atmosphere of dreamlike scenes where reality intertwines with emotional metaphor.
