Description
This oil painting captures the luminous essence of the Mediterranean coast. The composition revolves around a perched village, where colorful facades pile up spontaneously. Red, ochre, and yellow oppose the deep blue of the sea.
The sky is adorned with pink and orange hues, evoking the softness of the end of the day. The expressionist approach is manifested by a strong work of the material. The brush and knife sculpt the relief of the rocky cliffs.
The whole exudes a solar optimism. The light seems to emanate directly from the pigments, creating a marked contrast between the land and the water. The eye travels from the green peaks to the azure reflections of the coast.
Created in 2019? this work favors the visual impression and the warmth of southern tones. The stroke is frank, the color blocks are sharp. The scene ends with the abrupt meeting of the gray stone and the marine wave.
Presentation
Born in Paris, I spent almost every summer in Provence in the region of Saint-Tropez. Almost 30 years in fashion gave me a passion for colors and they are a bit the signature of my painting. In December 2017, I left the Paris region for San Remo. I find there the warm colors of the south and the gaiety of the Italians. My pictures are optimistic. I like the fades of dry pastel, but also their lively features which give life to the drawing. I like the warm colors of the oil painting, the softness of the brush, but also the liveliness and the work of the material with a knife. My painting is "sensitive": I use the technique that best reflects my "impressions" and my "emotions". I feel "Expressionist".
