There are rites, revelations, key moments in life that change a person, and she crossed the bridge. So it’s a metaphor for change; the bridge embodies the moment of passage. It is very personal, yet it is known to everyone. The graphic style is liquid, hazy, like the embodiment of a cloud that hovers over the past and which could present itself again in the future in one form or another. This timeless link is also supported by the use of monochrome which allows the viewer's imagination to interpret the presence of day and night as well as the infinity of colors. This painting can evoke good memories and beautiful ambitions, or on the contrary plunge back into the fears and apprehensions of the next day; it exists to praise the successful transformation, of those who have managed to cross the bridge, like the medal offered to great champions.

The 29.7 by 42 centimeter format is not an immense public display that every eye must see, it is not an egotistical painting, it is a reward, an object that is kept and viewed with humility, gratitude. , which can be feared or desired. It is possible to go further in the metaphorical meaning of the bridge, by interpreting each drop, the destructuring of the materials, the possible heights of the building, the slight midnight blue tint mixing with the black, or even the secrets that the bridge hides. shadow, but it is the role of the spectator, a work that he does with the passing of time, without realizing it, because these responses are personal, intimate to him. The painting is produced using the technique that the artist calls *graphic bursting* which transforms the material, it is then solid, liquid and gaseous, opaque and transparent, achievable and unrealizable, all at the same time. It is neither probable nor improbable, it is transformed, new. For paintings with a reduced format, the images obtained then have the advantage of acquiring a higher level of resolution than using traditional techniques. Some spectators will indulge in daydreaming by finding their own title for this work, for the good reason that it is hidden, written on the back of the sheet, whereas it is through the words that the painting becomes complete with meaning. Only the buyer and the initiated know how this trick works, a title allowing the interpretation of paint and white; hidden words to respect the privacy of those who humbly display this work in their life - signed in black ink on the back of the sheet, leaving the front space entirely to the viewer. In conclusion, this work is a collector's item which is made to accompany, motivate, glorify, or bring its purchaser back to his senses, throughout his life.

Aesthetically discreet, it can be placed on a wall or in a bookcase, contemplate it every day or want to find it again at random. The paper used is 300g/m2 multi-technical, the bottom edge was manually recut with scissors by the artist. The painting is done on the fine grain side, while the signature and title are on the line grain side. The color was obtained by dilution of gouache - at this level of dilution it is understood to say that the gouache is watercolored. The artist is sentimentally very attached to this creation.

Merljn, the Artist of Harmonies.

Merljn is an artist who has taken a scientific approach to art, exploring the mixing of mediums, techniques, choice of medium and composition with deliberate intention. For him, beauty obeys laws, and the tools offered to artists form an obvious or undiscovered panel, requiring careful ordering.

His journey led him to unlearn to achieve authenticity, following the adage “know thyself". A spirit strongly opposed to constraint, boredom, mediocrity, lack of clarity about his work and the incomprehension of the spectator, he involuntarily followed in the footsteps of his predecessors. Rediscovering pointillism, naive painting, carbon copying, destructuring, science fiction or the imprecise approach, his main ideas have always been to take pleasure in what he does and to "rediscover the universe".

His progress was long and difficult. When a technique or way of representing had nothing more to offer and he did not find the exaltation he was looking for, it was up to the next one to move on. Being authentic also means renouncing what we dislike, especially if we had hopes of happiness there. Many times he wanted to stop everything.

Today, he thinks that his graphic art is not something that could occupy him every day from morning to evening. He is not looking for a technique that satiates him, but rather artistic variety. As in cooking, it is good to vary, not to be greedy, nor to die of hunger. Perhaps he is a wise artist.

He offered a lot of his works and, on principle, had never sold any. They are scattered all over the world, among the rich and the poor. Still others are used to fuel the barbecue fire. His opinion on the prices of his art is simple: if he needs money, he sells, otherwise, he offers. These are two facets of shared happiness.

His civil identity and details of his private life are not communicated. He sometimes tells by the fire that he once made a mistake in a spell, now finding himself stuck in St Tropez in a rejuvenated body, and that Arthur will know nothing about it. But that's another story...
