Escape to a world of dreams, an introspective or mythological world imagined by Christelle DIDIER-CURY.
Her origins, our origins, those of women, of Woman, which allow her to build the foundation, the roots of her present and future life. It is in this fertile soil of Central Europe (Poland) that Christelle draws her inspiration.
Working on expressive, intimate female portraits. Returning to the origins. Transmitting one's original culture. Paying homage to Greek deities like Morpheus and Medusa, then allowing oneself to be moved by Ophelia, a character from Shakespeare's tragedy Hamlet.
Christelle DIDIER-CURY currently lives in Reims.
She has been passionate about drawing and painting since her earliest childhood.
This passion was confirmed by her studies at the School of Fine Arts, then at the Blot School; a school of decorative painting, where she discovered faux wood, faux marble, mural frescoes, painted letters, but also gilding.
Gilding, which she particularly favors in some of her paintings. Due to her origins, she has a special interest in icons and Slavic art.
From 1995 to 2005, she continued to paint and expressed herself through oil painting. She participated in exhibitions with the Salon Orange.
Then, she sought a certain spontaneity, a lightness with watercolor. She created countryside landscapes inspired by her childhood in the Aisne region.
For the past few years, she has favoured acrylic paint and gold leaf.
She finds her fulfillment in more expressive and intimate portraits of women. Often, in the background, one finds motifs and ornaments from Central or even Eastern Europe, which mark her world.
Today, she aspires to share her dreams with those who stop to contemplate her paintings. To make others dream, in turn, that is her desire.
