    This is one of the paintings from Takeru's still life series. In this painting, he depicts a candle with wax melted and dripping down. The candle can symbolize the passing of time, death or loss of virginity when it is extinguished, and the banana is often associated with sensuality. One may notice that there is something unnatural about this work - the banana normal does not stand on its own as depicted. However, the little three lines on the bottom right suggest that maybe the banana is rocking on the table and it is about to tilt on the table again. Maybe what Takeru depicted is just "one moment" of a scene with movement, like a photograph.

Takeru Amano
Japan Born in: 1977

Takeru Amano is a Japanese artist born in 1977.

Takeru has been in contact with the world of art since his childhood, and in 1997, he moved to New York where he studied engraving for three years. Upon his return to Tokyo, he mixed the new influences from the big apple with the Japanese pop culture which gradually lead to defining his own style.

Using classicism and modernity in his creations, Takeru Amaro combines accuracy of the line to an explosive color palette from the pop culture.

His works have been part of several solo and group exhibitions, specially in Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
