France Born in: 1934
Pierra Clama, whose real name is Pierre Clamagirand, was born in 1934 in Lunéville, Lorraine. He settled in Paris after the war. Around the age of 14, he started becoming interested in painting and in pictorial arts in a general way. After high school, he began practicing painting and drawing and did architectural mockups. He was adviced by Lucien Fontanarosa and Robert Lapoujade.

In Paris, he frequented the art milieu parallel to his studies in architecture. Where he met Pierre Bonnard with whom he became friends and who influenced his artwork in a major way.
Pierre Clama then met several painters, poets, writers, sculptors and other artists who inspired him such as: Aime Cesaire, Gabriel Fournier, Michel and Louise Leiris, André Beaudin, Alberto Giacometti and Edouard Pignon. Clama is passionated about Jazz too.

His paintings portray all kinds of spectacles: theater, landscapes, street scenes, portraits, journeys and musique. A polymorphic artist, Pierre Clama's pieces are inspired by his encounters, his different passions and combine scripture, colors and light.

He became famous late in his life and started exhibiting his work by the end of the 60s in diverse and unusual places (private appartments, galleries of independent artist, even in a bank etc) .
