About the artwork
Artwork sold in perfect condition
Influenced by vintage and pop art from Warhol, Raymonde known as Pop Girl Art offers her vision of society on different themes through the visual use / interpretation of pop art codes. The artist, born in 1975, originally from La Rochelle, has been living in the south of France for several years.
Pop Girl Art likes to play with the crystallization of signs, codes, fantasies, sex, sensuality, as well as, without taboos, approaching death, religion, current affairs. She enjoys working on Icons in a pop art style, fixing shocking images and phrases. His paintings tell a new story or new stories with: humor, derision, and sometimes a touch of cynicism which are his favorite tools, with a serious and respectful background.
His world is color, a clever mix of performance, strength and life.
An enjoyable, impulsive, instinctive art ...
Non-sanitized works ...
The techniques used:
Mixed and current techniques: the collage of torn posters, acrylic paint or even the spray can and the stencil.
Thus, torn posters or torn photos combine harmoniously with layers of acrylic and stencils made with aerosol paint.
Popgirlart's canvases are embellished with vintage typography, fragments of words, which appear as the relevant elements, for many of its media on the basis of authentic old documents: Rock and Folk magazines, Melody Maker, Salut les Copains, press etc ... that the artist searches for and buys from collectors ... Always in this vintage spirit of the 60s to 80s and seeking a raw urban visual effect.
The fragmentation of the images takes on its full meaning through the technique of the feeling of the moment and the desired message. The paint work gives this impression that the paint acts by itself on the canvas, giving that very dynamic and urban / street art look.
