Biography

Tomás Saraceno is an Argentinean visual artist. Born in Argentina but currently based in Berlin, Saraceno obtained his masters in Architecture at the Iuav University of Venice in 2004. 

With his artworks, Saraceno aims to promote a more ethical relationship between modern society and the environment. Collaborating with researchers, institutions and local communities worldwide, he seeks to explore innovative ecological solutions. 

Saraceno's works have garnered significant acclaim and attention. They have been exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 2003, 2009 and 2019. His 2020 project Fly with Aerocene Pacha involved the first manned solar-powered free flight. The project achieved 32 world records. 

Saraceno has undertaken many residencies in his career, notably at MIT Center for Art, Science, and Technology and the French National Center for Space Studies. Permanent installations of his works can be found worldwide, including in Germany, Singapore, the USA, and the UAE.
