Biography

The first time I met Jacques Lacroix, the things that came to my mind were ?passion and elegance?. There is passion in his artistic approach that might be seen as a minor art form, but requires absolute rigor and permanent work.

There is the search for balance that guides his choice of materials and colors, and the elegance of his compositions is the fruit of this hard work. His collages have delicate nuances, in which pitch black or vivid colors open up an imagined perspective. They are posters ripped from walls, archeological witnesses of an urban architecture in a state of constant dislocation.

I have to thank Jacques Lacroix for his discipline that allows him to rise the collage medium to such an incredible level of emotion.
