Roberta Coni

Roberta Coni (Rome, 1976).  She graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome in 1999 and studied abroad with two scholarships in Spain and the United States. She is mainly interested in human figures, she mixes the classic technique of oil painting with full-bodied mixtures made of bitumen, melted with wax and glue. Since 2009, her research has been oriented towards large-scale paintings in which the face often emerges from the shadows in an interpretation in which the contemplative soul is aimed at continuous introspection. Her work is characterized by a strong realism associated with an increasingly rough material.
