Biography

Omar Bouragba was born in 1945 in Marrakech.

Poet, he has been painting since 1959.

His stay in Rabat allows him to know the artistic background of the 60s.
That he befriends Mekki Morcia, who organizes his first exhibition at La Mamounia in Rabat in 1965. His exhibition: Extreme Limit or Fusion in the Other; The House of Thought, in 1967, reveals it to the r'bati world of culture and arts. In addition, his meeting with Jilali Gharbaoui in 1965, and Ahmed Yacoubi in 1968 was decisive in his orientation as a painter. In the same way, Abderrahmane Serghini bought him two paintings which will be the first acquisitions of all this prestigious collection, and offered him a workshop with all the necessary comfort to paint; this period is marked by the break-up and search of the center. Working, in haste and urgency, Marrakech calls him in 1971 where he took refuge in the spirituality of Ibn Arabi.
