About the artist:
Yamila Velázquez (Las Tunas, Cuba, 1993) is a contemporary artist who uses digital intelligence tools. She currently lives and works in Alicante, Spain. Owner and partner of a company dedicated to the sale, representation, and development of artists and works of art, Velázquez combines her entrepreneurial vision with a profound artistic sensibility.
This young Cuban talent has established himself in the field of digital art, using contemporary media to explore themes related to nature, the landscape, and the intimate relationship between women and their environment. His works subtly and visually address themes such as beauty, love, sensuality, and feminine delicacy, always framed in immersive, romantic, and refined atmospheres.
With a vibrant and expressive aesthetic, Yamila Velázquez manages to fuse classical influences with a modern language, resulting in versatile, fresh and deeply evocative works. The pictorial texture of his images, the masterful use of color and the emotionally balanced composition position his work as a contemporary artistic proposal of high aesthetic value.

The work depicts a porcelain woman, broken and restored with gold threads, adorned with delicate blue flowers. The whole piece exudes an atmosphere of purity, resilience, and visual poetry, inspired by the Japanese art of kintsugi (not Chinese, but Japanese), the technique of repairing broken ceramics with gold, highlighting the scars as part of the piece's beauty.
This series is a visual hymn to fragility, the beauty of imperfection, and the resilience of the soul. Inspired by the ancient Japanese technique of kintsugi, which celebrates golden scars as witnesses to history and transformation, the female figures depicted here are bodies of living porcelain: perfect in their imperfection, radiant in their cracks.
The ivory-white body becomes a delicate field where cobalt blue patterns flourish, evoking the tradition of the blue and white Chinese porcello.
Each crack, rather than being hidden, is embroidered with golden threads that crisscross the body like a secret map of healed wounds, accepted memories, embraced experiences.
The crown of blue flowers adorning their heads acts as a symbol of rebirth and renews the connection between nature and the human condition. These are not mere ornaments: they are crowns of life, of persistence, of dignity regained after the fall.
Aesthetically, the work engages with sculptural classicism, oriental decorative porcelain, and a contemporary sensitivity toward human vulnerability. The delicacy of the postures, the shimmering texture of the "ceramic skin," and the emotional depth contained in the minimal gestures create an ethereal and powerful atmosphere.
More than an aesthetic representation, this series is a statement: we are more beautiful for having been broken and repaired.
