Biography
Trained at the Beaux Arts de St-Étienne, in the 80's, Serge Kalinowski, turns to painting and its figurative representation.
Thus the portrait, the human body and nature are at the center of his artistic expression. In reference to the Ancients (Fragonard, Delacroix, Manet...) to the Moderns (Lucian Freud, Balthus, Dalí) or to the Contemporaries (Glenn Brown, Michael Borremans, Eric Fishl, Martin Eder...) the painter reworks the timeless works to offer a surrealist, poetic, sometimes provocative and burlesque look.
