Elio Roccamonte (Buenos Aires, 3 August 1927 - Rome, 5 July 1980). Giorgio Amelio Roccamontewas an Italian sculptor. On arriving in Italy, he entered the Brera Academy, which he attended from 1948 to 1950, where he was a pupil of Marino Marini then holder of the chair of sculpture. Arriving in Rome, in 1951 he held his first solo show in the Galleria dello Zodiaco. He was a teacher at the Primo Liceo Artistico in via Ripetta in the sixties and seventies of the twentieth century. Roccamonte is best known for his robot sculptures; later he devoted himself to sculptures in the shape of letters.
