Biography
Dimas Macedo is a sculptor and painter born in 1928 in Portugal.
In 1948 he joined the School of Fine Arts of Porto. Parallel to his studies, he was a pupil of Lino Antonio, a Portuguese painter, with whom he studied oil painting, stained glass, ceramics and frescoes. In 1956, he moved to Paris.
Dimas Macedo was interested at first in painting and drawing, then in 1979, he decided to dedicate to ceramics and sculpture in terracota. His sandstone sculptures have geometric shapes and are decorated with colorful enamelled parts. They gained him a reputation and allowed him to exhibit his work in numerous galleries.
Dimas Macedo died in Paris in 2009.
