Initially created in England but then becoming popular across Europe, rugby became an internationally recognised sport for the first time in 1846. This sport is often characterized as violent, uniting people and inspiring others. Artists such as the photographer Gerry Cranham who takes unique pictures during rugby matches, but also the painter Jean-Luc Lopez are inspired by this sport and let their imagination run wild.
