22nd February 2003, a fan in the streets of Cardiff, after Wales vs England.
Michel Birot wanted to look at the legendary Cardiff nights after a Six Nations’ match.
He commissioned Jodi Beiber, a renowned South African photojournalist whose work he appreciated and who was passing through Paris, to do the feature on impulse and at the last minute. She jumped on a train and arrived there when the crowds were starting to leave the Millennium Stadium, the immense ground that was built in the centre of Cardiff for the 1999 World Cup, on the site of Cardiff Arms Park, which hosted the national team’s matches. She wandered the streets all night collecting powerful images of this heathen and friendly party.

Jodi a commencé sa carrière en couvrant les élections en Afrique du Sud, son pays, en 1994, celles qui ont vu l'arrivée au pouvoir de Nelson Mandela. Sa sélection pour les finales du World press 1996 furent un tournant dans sa carrière et lui ouvriront les portes des grands magazines internationaux qui vont multiplier les commandes et lui faire parcourir le monde.
De nombreuses fois primée avec notamment le World Press 2010, elle a continué tout ce temps à poursuivre des projets personnels et à s'y investir. Parmi eux « Between Dogs and Wolves » – « Growing up in South Africa » – « Soweto » et « Real Beauty » ont été de multiples fois exposés localement et dans le monde entier. Jodi aime aussi transmettre et accompagne régulièrement des étudiants dans leur cheminement et les aide à mener à bien leurs projets. Elle participe aussi à des workshops un peu partout dans le monde.
