Biography
Yak Rivais was born in Fougères in 1939. Painter until 1982, he exhibited in Paris, Montreal, Munich and Brussels. He also drew cartoons, and collaborated on the reviews Fluide Glacial and the Almanach Vermot. Until 1994, he was an author and teacher. He wrote many books, and received, among many others, the Black Humor Prize, the Anti-Conformism Prize, and the Brittany Prize. The first readers of his children's books were his pupils at a school near the Pantheon. He is now retired but continues to write. He is a specialist in tales, games and verbal pirouettes. Among the ten titles devoted to writing games, we can quote: "Witches are NRV" published in 1988, at the origin of the wave of writing workshops in colleges. In addition, he has published several books for teachers at Retz. He does the illustrations for his books himself.
