Biography
Born in 1973 in Paris, Justine Darmon discovered silver photography in
1990.
Inspired by the world of tales and Renaissance painters, she calls on
collective memory and universal symbolism. Her interpretation of materials, shadows
and lights infuses a dreamlike and timeless character to his images. The
symbolisms evoked by her work govern the male-female relationship as well as
that which we have with our own intimacies. Justine invites us to plunge into
our interiority and our corporeality, in their incessant clashes, in the
contradictory or complementary movements that guide our lives, our
relationships, our betrayals.
Several of
her photographic projects have been exhibited in Galleries in Paris and Lille
as well as in Festivals (Voies ::Off (Arles), FEPN (Arles), Emoi Photographique
(Angoulême), Les rencontres de la Photographies (Chabeuil), Phot'Aix (Aix en
provence) : Evasions, Music'Spirits et Ambivalences, Le Clown et la Danseuse,
Eclipse et les Lames de l'Âme.
