Biography
A multifaceted artist, Juliette Meynial devotes herself to sculpture through pieces of great delicacy.
Her mobiles, suspended from a thread, float in the wind, bringing life to the walls on which their shadows are projected. She defies the laws of gravity: raw, heavy steel transformed into metal lace that vibrates with every breath of air. Chiseled suspensions that reinvest the art of the mobile to create a poetic and delicate universe.
“My work is primarily based on materials as a source of inspiration. The found object or the chosen material is often the source of my work. Metal, wood, rope, paper… materials that echo a thought. There must be this concomitance for a series to be born: for the idea to meet the material that corresponds to it."
For nearly 20 years, the artist has been exploring life, the evolution of beings, and the quest for freedom. Through aerial mobiles, her "branches," "briefs of life," her whimsical tales, and her series "Le Saint des seins," she takes us on a journey through her symbolic and dreamlike journeys. The Isabelle Laverny Gallery has collaborated with the artist since 2005.
