Biography
Cumbone is an artist born in Rouen, France, in 1978. In 2009, he started to define a trajectory in his work in order to achieve a veritable graphic identity. He decided to use the repetition of images simple and popular symbols, so people can identify his works quickly and easily. In his works, space is saturated by symbolic compositions made of separate elements.
He uses a library of characters, words, symbols, logos that he recycles, enriches and transforms continuously. The references in his works are multiple, from technology to TV and advertising, from Hello Kitty to Playmobil, but also cultural references addressing to connoisseurs.
Collectors have already started following his work, and his first show (2010) was a great success. The opening of his show was followed by a performance. His work stirs the interest of the public and his practice is in constant evolution.
