Sébastien Chauchot

Born in 1975, Sébastien Chauchot grew up in the countryside and has kept his love for nature and simplicity.

By immersing his first prints in the developer in the early 2000s, he dove passionately into black and white photography. On a razor's edge between shadow and light, remove color to go to the essence of beings and reveal their singularity.

His exhibitions between 2010 and 2018:

• Spaces en Latency: commission from the city of Vitry le François in 2011

• Institutional portraits: personal work on the teaching profession in 2010

• Men in the Wind (long-term report on workers in wind farms for

ENGIE in 2013)

• At the Public Service (commissioned by the city of Vitry le François, 2017)

• 20 years of Vitry Synergic: Long-term report on a reintegration association

• ESAT: long-term report on disabled workers; (order of 2018)

Nourished by the works of Ansel Adams and Edward Weston, the pictorialist works of Edward Steichen for example, Sébastien continues to explore the monochrome power of things in his personal work, through portraiture, landscape and still life.
