Presentation

Born in 1968 in Brescia, Italy.

Based in Brescia, he spent part of his childhood in his father's workshop, himself a sculptor. Here he experimented the use of artistic techniques and materials by developing highly original applications.

Naturally influenced by his father, he is also art by great masters such as Boccioni, Balla, the Futurist movement painters, Henry Moore, sculptor of the early twentieth century, or Piero Manzoni. Stefano Bombardieri from a figurative approach to advance in the conceptual. To achieve further work, he approaches the world of Piero Manzoni.

He participated in numerous collective and personal exhibitions in Italy and Europe. He is interested in all forms of art from the world of design to applied art.

Topics created based on a philosophical approach, the artist speaks of pain, present in Western culture, time and perception. Although his work is based more on an inner search of the concept of aesthetics, his works are still related to the hyperrealist movement, his work is described: motley, both minimal, conceptual, featuring the using a great mix of tools and artistic mediums, such as video-installation that is recurrent in his current work.

His sculptures are entirely credible, in other words they have an absolutely realistic presence made carefully rendered details, plastic perfection of mimesis in a balanced stylistic complacency. And yet it is "their" truth itself, their lifelike appearance that make them surreal or disturbing.

Rhinos, sumo wrestlers this artist, as well as many other possible topics, are of almost the appearance of fossils frozen in a synthetic fixity artificial. A parallel life so perfect and incorruptible what causes stupor. But basically it's just art, the magic of art that makes possible the alchemy and the works of Stefano Bombardieri take us by the hand, with apparent lightness, pleasantly excited, to concepts such as the relationship between reality and fiction, life and its duplicate if present today but atavistic ubiquitous in the collective imagination, and basic material for reflection on art and knew its language.
