The Oil painting Cardboard titled "Ancient city monastery" depicts a striking vision of history, faith, and everyday rural life, set against the backdrop of an impressive monastery rising above green meadows. The viewer's eye is immediately drawn to the architectural ensemble at the center of the composition, where tall towers, onion domes, and fortified walls dominate the horizon. Painted in tones of ivory, pale lavender, warm ochre, and deep browns, the monastery gleams under the soft daylight, standing as both a fortress and a sanctuary. Its walls are massive and commanding, suggesting centuries of endurance, while the domes and spires soar upward, emphasizing the spiritual aspirations of the community it represents. The monastery's structures are rendered with bold yet impressionistic strokes, capturing the essence of the architecture without rigid detail. Each dome glows with touches of gold and bronze, highlighted with strokes of white and cream that catch the light, reinforcing the sense of sacred grandeur. The tall central tower, painted in soft purples and whites, becomes a focal point of the skyline, while the flanking towers and domes balance the composition with rhythm and harmony. Clouds drift across the pale blue sky, painted in soft, sweeping brushstrokes, adding an air of serenity that contrasts with the solidity of the monumental structures below. The foreground is filled with the vitality of rural life. A winding dirt road curves naturally through the landscape, guiding the viewer's eye from the bottom left corner up toward the monastery. Painted with textured strokes of gray, beige, and muted violet, the road feels well-worn and alive with movement. Along this path, a horse-drawn cart emerges prominently, pulled by a strong white horse whose form is highlighted with quick strokes of cream and gray. The horse's head is turned slightly, capturing its energy and forward motion, while the rider, dressed in dark tones, sits upright, guiding the cart steadily along the path. This figure, humble in scale compared to the towering monastery, symbolizes the enduring connection between human labor, faith, and the land.
