I paint with earths, ochres and natural pigments; my gesture, guided by breath, follows the imperceptible movements of life.
Biography
Caroline Blanc is a contemporary French artist, born on March 25, 1981. She currently lives in Crest, in the Drôme region, where she devotes herself fully to her artistic practice.
From a very young age, she had a desire to create anime. She dreamed of a workshop where color and materials would come to life under her hands. This dream remained suspended for a time, like a discreet thread connecting her path to an expression yet to be discovered.
Her journey initially led her towards the human element. For several years, Caroline Blanc worked as a social worker in a psychiatric setting. This experience honed her deep listening skills, her attention to silences, inner states, and emotions, which would profoundly influence her approach to creation.
Her artistic approach is rooted in a careful observation of nature and ephemeral phenomena. Caroline loves to immerse herself in the landscape, listen to the silence, and perceive the subtle movements of the world. Wind, water, and light become starting points, pretexts for exploration.
In the intimacy of her studio, painting became an obvious choice. Initially figurative, her practice gradually evolved towards abstraction, driven by a desire to get closer to the essential. Materials became her language. She experimented with layering and worked with earths, ochres, and natural pigments, often collected during her walks, allowing time and natural processes to work their magic on the materials.
Gesture is at the heart of her work. Free, intuitive, and guided by breath, it is rooted in a mindful relationship with the body and respiration. Nourished by her yoga practice, painting becomes a form of moving meditation, a dialogue with natural forces, in a tension between control and surrender.
His works unfold like spaces of passage, where time, movement and matter leave their trace.
His work invites us to slow down, to contemplate and to feel matter as a tangible presence of time and of the world in becoming.
