Marguerita Pillini

Italy

Biography

Marguerita Pillini was an Italian painter, active mainly in the late nineteenth century in Turin and Paris.

Pillini was born in Lombardy and married the painter Marco Pillini. For many years she was a resident of Paris. She exhibited in 1883 in Rome: Stracciaiolo di Quimper or Stracciajuolo di Quinper ("Quimper silk cocoon carder") and Charity; in 1884 in Turin, in 1884: Three Ages; Poor blind man; Portrait of the Prince of Naples; and another painting of the genre of vero.

De Rengis in his critique of the "Quimper Silk Cocoon Carder" said: "If I'm not mistaken, Signora Margherita Pillini also took this path, full of modernity, but not without great danger. 'is touched with great disdain for every suggestion of the old school. A rare value, if it is worth it, that a young woman should be carried by a natural inclination in such attention to detail. This method of painting, as opposed to solid colors, desires to be seen from afar, leaving in the eye an infinite desire for peace. "
