Zofia Anna Misiak is a contemporary painter from an artistic family. Her parents, Janina Żylińska and Stanisław Misiak, introduced her to the world of art at a young age, shaping her creative sensibilities.
Misiak's formal artistic training began at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She later honed her skills at the prestigious L'Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. During her studies, she refined her painting technique and learned lithographic techniques, broadening her artistic expertise.
Misiak's artistic practice is primarily focused on painting, drawing, and lithography. However, she is also known for experimenting with other media, including collage, painting on glass, and wood. Her creative output also includes three-dimensional forms.
Her work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions both in Poland and internationally. Her talent has been recognised with several notable awards, including a Silver Medal at the Petit Palais in Paris in 1986 and another award in Palermo in 2006. Misiak's work is held in private collections in Poland and abroad. She is also a member of the European Culture Association "SEC," based in Venice.
In recent years, Zofia Anna Misiak has been working on her series titled "Galleries on the Road," which explores "secret places, distant countries." Her travels serve as her primary source of inspiration, with her work capturing not only landscapes but also the events and people she encounters. Most recently, she found inspiration in Malta, a place she describes as "full of mysteries and with extraordinary nature."
