Serge Poliakoff

Serge Poliakoff is a Russian painter recognized worldwide, born in 1900.

His first contact with art occurred during his attendance to the School of Design of Moscow. At age 18, he decided to leave Russia and lived in several European capitals, Berlin, Vienna before finally settling in Paris.

Serge Poliakoff is recognized as one of the most active and most influential painters of his generation, he is close to several other Parisian artists and stylists such as Arman and Yves Saint-Laurent. His painting, intensively abstract perturb the codes of art.

Today a world famous artist; Serge Poliakoff's work can be found among the greatest private and public collections, including several museums in Europe and the United States. His success started in 1962 after he had the opportunity to exhibit his work at the Venice Biennale.
