Mehran Rashidfarokhy

I have painted professionally for more than thirty years, exhibiting my work in galleries throughout the United States and Europe. My paintings include impressionist and post-impressionist landscapes, cityscapes and coastal scenes; classic and contemporary floral and still life paintings; and modern abstract pieces. I paint with both oil and acrylic, often using a palette knife for bold texture and subtle effect. Born in Tehran before the revolution, I was raised in Germany and my work is heavily influenced by my travels through Europe and the United States. I came to the United States as a university student and have been a proud U.S. citizen for nearly 25 years. I reside in Alexandria, Virginia with my wife and three children, two cats, and our energetic chocolate lab rescue, Nola.
