Description
Red Poppies. Thickly textured post-impressionist paintings allow me to express my love of bright color and simple, bold shapes, working primarily with a palette knife to build layers of paint on the canvas. The result creates subtle shadows and visual effects when viewed from different angles and conveys a sense of rolling earth, pitted roads, and chalky stucco buildings across the landscape. This piece is gallery wrapped and the sides are painted so it may be displayed either framed or unframed. Ready to Hang: Yes. Signature Location: bottom right.
Presentation
I have painted professionally for more than thirty years, exhibiting my work in galleries throughout the United States and Europe. My paintings include impressionist and post-impressionist landscapes, cityscapes and coastal scenes; classic and contemporary floral and still life paintings; and modern abstract pieces. I paint with both oil and acrylic, often using a palette knife for bold texture and subtle effect. Born in Tehran before the revolution, I was raised in Germany and my work is heavily influenced by my travels through Europe and the United States. I came to the United States as a university student and have been a proud U.S. citizen for nearly 25 years. I reside in Alexandria, Virginia with my wife and three children, two cats, and our energetic chocolate lab rescue, Nola.
