This work is a visual meditation on repetition, residue, and resonance. Composed entirely of layered and sifted paint residues, the work captures a delicate balance between deliberate form and organic dispersion. At its center emerges a large circular void — like a crater, or a silence within sound — surrounded by vibrant concentric traces of multicolored fragments. This deliberate negative space becomes the artwork's quiet heart, radiating an introspective calm amid the surrounding chromatic energy.
Every particle in is a remnant of previous painting — collected, preserved, and transformed. This process-based approach gives the work a deep material memory, embedding it with an archival quality that transcends its purely visual impression. Nothing here is wasted: the past becomes the medium of the present.
Visually, the piece plays with scale. From afar, it suggests a satellite image of a planetary surface or an aerial view of a ceremonial site; up close, the textures reveal a universe of microcosmic detail — pigments, flakes, granules — each with its own chromatic voice. These tiny specks, though randomly dispersed, accumulate into rhythm and structure, echoing the natural processes of erosion, sedimentation, or stellar formation.
The circular composition invites multiple readings: as a symbol of wholeness, ritual, time, or simply as a visual anchor that contrasts the chaos of the surrounding fields. It also evokes a sense of motion — like ripples, gravitational fields, or orbits held in suspension. Despite its physical stillness, seems to breathe.
This work, like all pieces in the Marsfeld series, originates from Atelier Hellbusch, where material consciousness and painterly experimentation go hand in hand. is not only an object of aesthetic refinement, but also a quiet act of artistic sustainability — born not from new resources, but from creative reassembly.
Perfect for contemporary interiors, collectors interested in conceptual or material-based art, or anyone seeking to own a piece that speaks both to the eye and to the passage of time.
