Description
This striking artwork depicts a reimagined teddy bear, entirely covered in motifs of American banknotes. The predominant use of green hues and shades of white inevitably evokes the familiar color of the dollar, while simultaneously lending the object a captivating, almost luminescent sheen. On the bear's face and body, monetary symbols and portraits of famous figures accentuate the contrast between the toy's childlike innocence and the adult world of finance. The artist skillfully plays with notions of value and consumerism, transforming a comforting object into a bold reflection on our capital-driven society. Through this juxtaposition, the work echoes themes of materialism and nostalgia, while also challenging the viewer on contemporary cultural priorities.

Known as Sylvie Cappe or self-taught artist SKP, she has a perfect mastery of her art. After having practiced watercolor, then oil painting, she now mixes different techniques combining aerosol cans, solvents, oil paint, pigments, resin...
Her universe is turned towards the feminine and the fantastic, her work is in turn colorful, cheerful sometimes tormented... and always makes us travel.
