Cristina Bahiense is a Brazilian artist born in 1957 in Rio de Janeiro, where she lives and works. She holds a degree in psychology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, and studied art history at PUC (Pontifícia Universidade Católica) in Rio de Janeiro. She then continues her artistic education at the Escola de Arte Visuais of Parque Lage, under the care of Fernando Cocchiarale, Guilherme Bueno, Franz Manata, Luis Ernesto, Manoel Fernandes, Pedro França and Reynaldo Roels Jr.

Cristina Bahiense realizes as well collages as drawings and abstract installations in which we find a play on lines and curves.

Cristina Bahiense has had personal exhibitions mostly in Bresil (Ibeu Gallery, Rio de Janeiro, 2009; Centro Cultural Justiça Federal, Rio de Janeiro, 2011; Sesc Rio, Teresópolis, 2007) but also in Portugal (European and Latin American Biennial of Contemporary art, 2012), in New York (Artexpo, 2013) or even in Paris (Latin America Maison, 1987).
Her artworks are also exhibited at the White Martins Collection, the Eugenio Pacelli Collection, the Escola Panamericana de Arte, and at the Cândido Mendes Cultural Center.
