Jean David Nkot was born in 1985 in Douala, Cameroon where he lives and works. In 2010, he graduated from high school diploma of arts of Mbalmayo (IFA). He then joined the Institute of Fine Arts Foumban where he obtained a license in drawing / painting.
He also attended throughout his training the workshops of his elders Hervé YOUMBI, Salifou LINDOU, Jean Jacques KANTÉ, Pascal KENFACK, Ruth BELINGA. He is also laureate of several artistic distinctions. His work is soon the subject of numerous exhibitions including Doual'art space from 2014. 2016 marks a turning point with exposure to "Fleur de peau" and participation in many international events including RAVY, YIA, BIND and Bandjoun Station.
In 2017, on the occasion of SUD2017, the Douala urban show, he introduces the public to "The so-called and the unspoken". On the trompe-l'oeil façade of Ruben Um Nyobe's house in Nkongmondo, typographical excerpts from his speech at the UN. The same year, he joined the Post Master "Moving Frontiers" organized by the National School of Arts of Paris-Cergy on the theme of borders.
In 2018, three solo shows are presented in London at the Jack Bell Gallery "Cartographies mentales" and in Paris "Jeux de clowns" at Carole Kvasnevski Gallery and "Jeux de maux" at the International City of Arts
