Alexander Becherer

Born in: 1983

Alexander Biserama Becherer was born in 1983 in Lahr, in the South East of Germany.

In 1997, he practiced street art in his family district. During his teenage years, art was a way to go out and have fun with his friends. According to him, the majority of young people start to realize graffiti because they feel adrenalin, they travel and meet new people. He finally decided to learn at the Beaux-Arts Academy where Franzjoseph Held taught. Today he lives and works in Gengenbach in Germany.

He mainly creates installations and sculptures by using a wide range of materials as polyester, wood, metal to create most of the time works of an impressive size. His work is full of ambiguity, references, symbols and double meaning messages.

In his work, Alexander evokes the urban environment and the sensation of submersion of the human in this world of skyscrapers and of intrusive technologies. The mission that he entrusts to the spectator is to find order in this chaotic vision.

The message of Alexander is rooted in his actual preoccupations; the artist struggles to preserve the rural environment and the awareness of the consequences of intense urbanisation.
