Alain Nahum

Born in: 1948

Born in 1948, Alain Nahum is a film-maker, photographer, and visual artist. He published several books: "Exils, Exodes, Errances" (drawings) Au nom de la mémoire Edition and "Emergences, Regards sur la ville" (photographies and drawings), Parenthèses Edition in 2015. Alain Nahum constantly surprises us, as a present archaeologist he testifies, where man is, there is humanity. The sepia colors and ochre backgrounds evoke the whitewashed walls where the quattrocento fresco painters painted their synopsis. The techniques have changed but the gesture remains. Alain Nahum’s drawings speak to all about the distance to oneself through the fears and renunciations, the hatreds and discriminations felt in the depth of the soul.
