Jimmy de Bock

Born in: 1975

Belgium

Born in 1975 in Brussels, he lives and works in Brussels. In 2009, he began a new stage in his work on movement, illustrating urban scenes that put cultural buildings in dialogue with their environment, passers-by, tourists; the process of taking the pictures is carried out in two stages: one in movement, the other one static. These two operations represent a total of 400 to 600 photos. The whole ensemble is then digitally reassembled and in order not to let the characters in the scene appear so clearly. The buildings move and people are still. Reality is inverted. The choice of cultural buildings is due to the fact that they are also a form of expression of the being that is in perpetual motion itself.
