Alain Cornu

Born in: 2016

France

Alain Cornu is a French photographer, born in Decize in 1966. He lives and works in Paris. Initially he had passion for drawing and painting, but later on turned towards photography.Alain Cornu studied the technique of this art at the prestigious Ecole Gobelins and made photography as his way of expression. After two years of studying, he was the head of his class in 1988 and continued to work as an assistant for major Parisian photographers and began as a professional in 1991. He creates in studios but also in open air, they range from portraits to still life, whether it's through orders or for his personal work. He also uses old procedures to create landscape pictures with the help of an exterior darkroom. In 2007, he was rewarded by the Kodak talent grant, this was followed by the public award at the Montpelier festival in 2010. His work is now presented in several public institutions like the musée des arts décoratifs in Paris or the Fonds National d’Art Contemporain.
