Michel Audebert

France Born in: 1958
Michel Audebert is a French photographer, he was born in 1958. His artistic career began in 1975 during his initial steps in one of the cradle cities, of the French photographic expression by participating in one of the famous Photo Club meetings of Val de Bievres, not far from the famous French Museum of Photography. Simultaneously, he attended the EFET school (private photography courses) and in 1976 he did an internship at the major Parisian photo laboratory, namely CENTRAL COLOR.

In Audebert's art, one can find some inspiration of other artists here and there, like the one of Lucien Clergue and David Hamilton, to name a few of the famous key figures in photography. But his photographic art is more complex and he has a unique style.
Michel Audebert has a particular approach with photographic art. It's more than just representation work, his search is based on the expression of feeling, which emanates from the figure that is being photographed. In his image series, the recurrent patterns doesn't have a "hypnotic" aim. He considers photography to be a noble form of expression, especially it's relationship with reality and time. It can create the illusion of reality but also make it seem as if time stood still. He doesn't see photography as a means of restoring reality but of expressing or transcending the beauty of the world around him.

Beyond the nude and nature photography, his work triggers feelings or even reflection. One can't separate the feeling of idealizing his model, whether it is human or nature, his aim is to give his subject the capacity of being able to express itself in a peaceful manner, therefore treat it with respect and admiration.
