Presentation

Catherine discovered drawing while seeking refuge in the face of the difficult events that marked her childhood. It offers him an escape and becomes his privileged means of expression. In 1986, Catherine opened her first workshop in Normandy, in order to make a living from her passion.

In 1993, the artist left him to settle in French Polynesia. This year is the year of revelation. The Polynesians became her favorite subject and she painted their faces in oil paint. Four years later, life brings her back to France. Catherine then chooses to settle in Provence. She immediately picks up her brushes and discovers the “magic of pastels". Inspired by the sketches she makes on her walks and travels, she paints flowers, still lifes and her memories of Tahiti.

In 2004, she opened a brand new workshop. She now chooses to pay tribute to the beauty of the landscapes of Brittany and Provence, regularly organizing painting courses for budding artists. Catherine's artistic sensitivity and her ability to convey her passion have attracted many followers. Anxious to maintain a friendly working atmosphere, she forms small groups of passionate amateurs with whom she combines travel and painting, bringing in her luggage a veritable factory of happy memories. Sensitive to movement and light, the artist signs his landscapes with a precise hand, giving the leaves the appearance of “organic mosaics".

True hymns to life, Catherine Tapon's paintings help us face the obstacles and pains of existence by sending us a message of hope in subtly declined colors. His paintings have been exhibited in Papeete, Taipe (Taiwan), Montreal, New York, Recife, Brasilia, Brussels, Paris, Nice, Cannes, Lyon, Shanghai, Pekin...
