Biography

Silene : A creation with 4 hands

In homage to the forest, and to the timeless power of trees, Claire Mahey proposes a work of wood lace where the silhouettes of trees encountered in nature are reinterpreted in hard and precious woods from her original drawings.

Created with the techniques of cabinetmaking, carpentry and scrollwork developed by Pierre-David Abt, the sculptures emanate from these same ancient wooden trees, to express their contemplative poetry. Each unique piece plays on the transparency and warmth of the material. Inner silhouettes, neat and soothing, the trees are bearers of a presence.
