A city... A wasteland for a time, an undefined place. Life there is not that of the nearby city, even less that of the countryside. Vague place... Solitude of being crushed by density and multitude. One seeks the other, seeks himself, cries out his despair, his fears of tomorrow. He is waiting for life, for something, for love, for an escape but only finds comfort in the arms held out to him by his sofa.
Prisoners in the walls of towers and uniform lives, the bodies are suspended between sky and earth. They no longer participate in the world below but remain barred from space and horizon.
A dream of flight is shattered, the fleetingness of existence. What remains is the game, the dance, the derision.
Memories, sensations, emotions, reflections. Reminiscence of life in the city during adolescence.
Artistic production, a mirror of our emotions, opens onto the depths of the unconscious, back and forth between the visible universe and the invisible universe. It is the field of expression of the soul. The pictorial language of Stefan JARDEL introduces us to what he feels intimately.
His characters are all rounded, they are serious with humor, tender and mocking and sometimes take the opposite view of the texts which accompany them.
They take us back to our questions between materiality and spirituality, between gravity and elevation.
With them, Stefan JARDEL rediscovered sculpture, absent for a moment from his creative universe, but he also met SEA. J, another himself.

Presentation
Born in Paris, he worked and lived in different places and countries: in Italy, in Verona with the major art foundries and also in Thailand. In France, he returned to Paris for a time and then settled in Lyon in 1990 where he acquired the barge "Le Picaro" which would become his workshop and a place for meetings and multicultural emulation. Since 2001 he has lived and worked on Reunion Island while maintaining a workshop on the slopes of “La Croix-Rousse” in Lyon.// He has always considered his art not as a goal but as his own path of initiation. , a quest
